By activating the checkbox auto save before simulation, the current simulation data could be written into a backup file.

In the field auto save frequency [min], the time interval between the generation of backup files could be specified. From these backup files, the simulation can be restored to the status of the time of saving. This is done by changing the extension from *.emaBackup to *.ema.

The parameter max age of backup files [min] specifies the time after which the backup file is deleted. As soon as the backup file reaches the specified age, it will be deleted automatically.

When the checkbox perform clean up on project change is set, then upon creating a new project/opening an existing project, all created backup files for the current project are automatically deleted.

iThe memory requirement of the backup file corresponds to the file size of the original simulation. It is therefore recommended to regularly clean up the backup files in order to minimize the memory requirements.
