The address of your license server must be indicated in the field Server name or IP address. Please ask your administrator for the corresponding information. Depending on the settings of your network, either the name or the IP can be indicated. The IP address must be consistent with the IP address of the license server. In the event that the Windows service DNS resolves the name which corresponds to this particular IP address, it is also possible to indicate the name of the server in this field.
The communication port of your license server must be indicated in the field Server port. Please ask your administrator for the corresponding information.
Please indicate a value between 100 and 29999 in the field Client timeout [ms]. If you are unsure, leave this setting unchanged. The value controls the timeout of a request to the server. Within this time, a response from the license server must be available; otherwise, the client cancels the current request. This applies to every single request from the license server!
If you have provided the above-mentioned values, use the switch Test license server in order to fill the combination field at Requested server license and to check the connection to the server simultaneously. After having pressing the switch, the drop-down field contains a list of the licenses managed by the server. Next to the license name, the number of currently available free licenses is indicated to the right of “=”.. Please note that you only get a license from the server if a value greater than “0” is indicated behind the license designation. In the shown example (see figure Settings window licensing), it is a free “ema” license.
