The following must be taken into account during data acquisition:

▪Access to relevant company systems and data

▪Compliance with the permitted file formats

▪Detailing as required (finer the details, higher the requirement for computation)

▪Object characteristics (grasping points on tools etc.)

The following tools are suitable for 3D-data generation, restructuring and conversion:

▪SketchUp (Trimble)

▪3D Studio Max (Autodesk)

▪Visual Enterprise Author (SAP)

▪Blender (Blender Foundation)

iIn many companies, data acquisition is a large task that is more time consuming than the simulation itself. It is therefore recommended to simplify or remove elements of the data that are not absolutely necessary.
