Parameter types

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

In order to describe different tasks for the simulation with highest possible precision, ema offers the possibility to define certain parameters interactively for objects and tasks. There are different types of parameters which can be divided into two groups: simple parameters and interactive parameters. Simple parameters include character strings, numbers, boolean values and choice boxes; typical interactive parameters are paths, points in 3D space and object parameters. Furthermore, the parameters are divided into mandatory and optional parameters, depending on the situation and the object to be parameterised. The mandatory parameters highlighted in red must be necessarily entered by the user, whereas the optional parameters are only indicated if necessary.

iParameters highlighted in red indicates it have not yet been set correctly. The most common errors are the failure to set mandatory parameters or the non-observance of value ranges. Details about the error can be found in the tooltip which is displayed when holding the mouse pointer over the parameter designation.
