Mouse control

The 3D environment is controlled via the mouse. The following functions are provided for that purpose:

Left mouse button

Middle mouse button

Right mouse button

Object selection

(selection or layout mode)

Single click

 

 

Object selection and switch to layout mode or (in case of double execution) navigation and selection mode (valid for all modes)

Double click

 

 

Object selection via box or polygon

(selection mode)

Interactive object manipulation

(shifting of objects) (layout mode)

Keep pressed & move the mouse

 

 

Open object context menu

 

 

Single click

Set camera rotation center or pivot point

 

Single click

 

Rotate the camera around the target point

(rotate)

 

 

Keep pressed & move the mouse

Move the camera along the sight axis
(zoom)

 

Scroll or (with certain settings) keep pressed & move the mouse

 

Shift the camera in the sight plane

(pan)

 

Keep pressed & move the mouse or (with certain settings) keep only middle mouse button pressed & move the mouse

 

iIn the tab Options (see chapter User interface / Menu bar / Options / Settings / 3D viewer), the mouse control can be adjusted to personal needs by inverting the motion direction (shifting, rotating and zooming by activating the options Invert camera rotation, Invert camera pan and Invert camera zoom).

iThe rotation center for the camera or the small yellow crosshair can be turned off and on with the shortcut F11.
