Compression

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

The imported JT files can be converted into reduced JT files using this module. First of all, the CAD file to be compressed is selected and opened. Then the desired compression settings can be configured in the object tree.

The following reduction functions are available:

surface filter: removal of invisible geometry

polygon reduction: removes polygons in underlying structure based on a tolerance value that can be adjusted in the settings (see chapter User interface / Menu bar / Options / Settings / CAD processor). Selectable modes: polygon reduction only for duplicates, low polygon reduction for a fine result, medium polygon reduction for a medium result or high polygon reduction for a rough result

structure compression: formation of monoliths

material compression

node removal: deletes the selected node including the underlying structure

The reduction functions can be applied either to the entire file or to individual structure nodes. Different reduction functions could be applied simultaneously. Once all desired compression settings have been configured, compression can be started using the start file compression button. The storage location and the file name are customizable.
