There are currently three possibilities for adding values to an object parameter:
Selection of objects from scene graph and 3D environment |
|
Copy from other tasks / task end to wait for |
|
Choose from linked locations … |
The interactive selection marks the areas in the user interface from which objects could be selected using red boundary. The objects could be selected from the scene graph (Tree view, List view or File object modification report) or from the 3D view itself. Use the CTRL key to select multiple objects. Furthermore, there is a window Object selection for [OBJECT]. The object names with object ID are displayed as a list. The unwanted objects can be removed by clicking the icon
of the respective list entry. By confirming the Accept selection, the selected objects are accepted as the interactive parameter. By clicking on the symbol
at the top right of the control window, the selection is aborted.
Additional objects can be added when the interactive selection is made again on the same parameter.
By using the option Copy from another task / task end to wait for, a task can be selected with the help of a dialog. Depending on the context, either the task parameters or object parameters will be taken. On one hand it could be used to select a task in the wait task, for synchronization purposes. On the other hand it could be used to take objects as parameters from another task. The selection dialog shows all tasks from which objects could be taken as parameters for the currently active task.
After selection and confirmation with OK, the task or the objects of the selected task are taken over as the parameter.
The option Choose from linked locations provides a quick access to the objects in the process locations defined in the task groups.
When the object selection is completed, one or several object symbols are displayed in . Each object symbol represents one selected object. If the mouse pointer is located above an object symbol, a tooltip with information about the object is displayed. The objects can be removed from the selection by means of a simple click on the cross in the right part of the symbol.
The number of objects that could be selected is not limited. If only one object is required (for e. g. Reference object in the task Place object(s)) for the task, then the first object from the list is used and all other objects are ignored.
