Before the ergonomics calculation can be started, a simulation must be run in the tab Tasks. If this simulation was successful, switching to the tab Results and to Ergonomics is possible. On the left side of the work area, some additional information relevant to ergonomics can be noted. The human model to be considered can be selected in the drop-down list (upper left area).
In the area Common, the cycle time on which the task sequence is based can be defined under Cycle time. This cycle time is used as reference value in the following evaluation. The simulation time [s] is calculated during simulation and cannot be changed.
The function Cycles per shift [#] is used to change the number of actions per shift of work (i.e. in one work day). This information is necessary for evaluating the load handling ergonomics. The default value for Cycle time is 60 seconds, while 440 is the default value for Cycles per shift [#], which corresponds to an 8 hour work day.
Selecting Small workplace (operating range < 1,5m), the posture of EAWS Line 2 (standing), is evaluated instead of row 1 (upright; standing & walking).
iThe input of the cycle time is prioritised, i.e. when the cycles per shift or the net working time is changed, the cycle time remains the same, even though the other parameter (cycles per shift or net shift time) changes. When changing the cycle time, the net working time is automatically adjusted. This leads to the following adjustment prioritization: 1st cycle time, 2nd cycles per shift, 3rd net working time. iThe cycle time for Dynamic Objects can be adjusted in the Tab "Simulation project" (see chapter User interface / Tab "Simulation project"). |
All subsequent inputs correspond to the EAWS procedure (module 0), where instead of the (numerical) value ranges indicated in the EAWS worksheet, the sample categories originating from the EAWS description are offered as the choice boxes. The categories arranged one below the other correspond to their counterparts in the worksheet (extra points line 0a to 0e), are evaluated by frequency per minute and subsequently integrated into the total number of points.
After having made all settings, the evaluation can be started by pressing the button Calc. ergonomics. The progress of the ergonomics calculation is displayed in the status area.
iA successful Simulation is the precondition for economics calculation (see chapter User interface / tab "Tasks"). Otherwise, no parameters are generated or are available in ema which can be taken as the basis for ergonomics calculations. A hint is given in case of missing simulation. |
When the calculation of the ergonomics data is successfully completed, the values can be exported in the form of a table in Microsoft® Excel format. By clicking on the button Export ergonomics results (incl. job rotation), the collective report export dialog window opens (see chapter User interface / Tab "results").
When exporting the ergonomics data, two file formats are available:
▪Text file (separated by separators) (.csv) (*.csv)
▪Excel 2007 file (.xlsx) (*.xlsx)
